When we think about an low, medium range or high range smartphone, we could not think it without finger or biometric sensor. Wheather it is a most advanced or low range range smartphone, every phone have finger inbuilt in it. Apple, Samsung , Vivo, Oppo ,Realme or Mi every branded or non branded phone have finger print sensor. But the finger print position is different from mobile to mobile. And therefore there are some difference between them. We can differenciate them by In-Display Finger print and Side Mounted or Back side Finger Print sensor.
In Display Finger print
In Display Finger print is Ultrasonic based. It use Ultrasound to build an image of finger.
The advantages of in-display finger print sensor is as follows :
- Usually, this finger print sensor are located under the screen, so it looks great to see the phones.The phones look very premium with it.
- These sensors work well for both dry and wet fingers.
Side Finger Print Sensor
This type finger print sensors are Optical sensors. It is most common finger print sensor used in mobile phones. Advantages of these finger print sensor as follows :
- It is an old method.
- It is very much cost efficient.
- It also works well.
In Display Finger Print Vs Side Finger Print In mobile
In-Display finger print comes with a high range smart phones where optical or side finer print is available to low range smart phones also. Both the scanner is good on their own and works well , but if you want in display you have to buy a high range phone. Some in-display phones really slow beacause of their light to turn on. Though after sensor light on, they are much faster but if you have compare the optical sensor i.e side finger print sensor give fast unlock. I mean to say in-display sensor are fast for unlock but their sensor's light is a headache in some phones.
Also if phone dispaly is broken you have to pay much more compare than side finger print sensor phones. The in-diplay sensor phones' display is much more high in price. If you are a mid range user you will think for a new phone compare to replace the broken display of in-diplay sensor phone.
